Cal Clear Now Works With Outlook and Microsoft Teams

October 2026 · 6 min read · By

Until now, Cal Clear only worked with Google Calendar. As of today it works with Outlook / Microsoft 365 as well. That opens it up to companies that run on Microsoft 365, and it means people who live in both worlds can finally connect them and never get double-booked across either.

What changes for you

I'm Aravind, and I build Cal Clear. The biggest gap was easy to see: if your calendar lives in Outlook, Cal Clear could not help you. And if you keep a work calendar in Outlook and a personal one in Google, a booking tool that only sees one of them will eventually double-book you. That gap is now closed.

Conflict checking and booking work the same way with Outlook calendars as with Google ones, on every plan including free.

One booking link, Google and Outlook together

You still share a single booking link. When someone opens it, Cal Clear checks the free/busy times of every calendar you chose, Google and Outlook alike, and hides any slot where you are busy on any of them. A meeting on your Outlook work calendar blocks the slot just like one on your Gmail calendar does, so you are not double-booked across either.

When someone books, the event is written to the one calendar you pick as the place bookings should land. It can be a Google calendar or an Outlook one. If you want the longer explanation of how conflict checking works, the multi-calendar guide covers it.

Sign in with Google or Microsoft

You can now sign in or sign up with either a Google account or a Microsoft account. After that, connect as many accounts as you need from the Connected calendars section of Settings: two Google accounts and an Outlook one, a work Microsoft 365 account and a personal Outlook.com one, whatever your week looks like. There is no limit on the number of accounts, and that includes the free plan.

Video links: Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Zoom soon

Bookings that land on a Google calendar get a Google Meet link. Bookings that land on a work or school Microsoft 365 calendar can get a Microsoft Teams link. Cal Clear adds Microsoft Teams links only on work or school Microsoft 365 calendars, so personal Outlook.com and Hotmail calendars do not get a Microsoft Teams link. Zoom is coming soon; it is not available yet.

If you connect from a company account

Some workplaces are set up so that an IT admin has to approve a new app before anyone can connect it. If you see that message, it is not something you did wrong. Ask your admin to approve Cal Clear once. An admin can approve it for the whole organisation, so your colleagues will not hit the same wall. The steps are at calclear.app/help/outlook.

What Cal Clear can see in your Microsoft account

Privacy is the reason Cal Clear exists, so here is the exact list. When you connect Microsoft, Cal Clear asks for:

From your calendars Cal Clear uses free/busy only. It never reads event titles, descriptions or attendees, and it never reads your email. You can revoke access whenever you like: for a work or school account, go to myapplications.microsoft.com; for a personal account, go to account.live.com/consent/Manage.

What is not supported yet

I would rather be plain about this. iCloud and CalDAV calendars (Fastmail, Nextcloud and similar) are on the roadmap but not available yet. Exchange on-premises servers that are not part of Microsoft 365 are not supported. If one of those is your main calendar, a Google or Outlook calendar is the way in today.

Try it

If you already have a Cal Clear account, open Settings and add your Microsoft account under Connected calendars. If you are new, sign up with Google or Microsoft, add the other one, and share your link. If something does not work the way I describe here, write to hello@calclear.app and I will read it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Cal Clear work with Outlook and Microsoft 365?

Yes. Cal Clear connects Outlook / Microsoft 365 calendars (work or school Microsoft 365, and personal Outlook.com or Hotmail) next to Google Calendar. You can connect any number of accounts, on the free plan too.

Do Microsoft Teams links work on every Outlook account?

Microsoft Teams links go on bookings to work or school Microsoft 365 calendars. Personal Outlook.com and Hotmail calendars do not get Microsoft Teams links. Bookings on a Google calendar get a Google Meet link. Zoom is coming soon.

What does Cal Clear read from my Microsoft account?

Only free/busy: whether you are busy, never the title, description or attendees of an event, and never your email. It asks Microsoft for User.Read and Calendars.ReadWrite, plus openid, email, profile and offline_access.

My company asks for admin approval. What do I do?

Some workplaces ask an IT admin to approve Cal Clear once. An admin can approve it for the whole organisation, after which nobody else needs to. The steps are at https://calclear.app/help/outlook.

Which calendars are still not supported?

iCloud and CalDAV calendars (Fastmail, Nextcloud and similar) are on the roadmap but not available yet, and Exchange on-premises servers that are not part of Microsoft 365 are not supported.
